No matter what size your furniture is, it can be delivered to your place in a flat pack condition. Be it a glass coffee table, a giant sofa set or a king size bed, all can be packed in a compact manner. When the furniture is packed into small boxes, it reduces the shipping costs and lets the final consumer save more. It is then crafted in such a manner that it can be assembled without much hassle at home and installed within some time.

Here are some essential points to note before assembling furniture -

  • Read the instructions very carefully that will state how and what procedure needs to be followed. It will have all the details of the nuts and bolts provided in the package.
  • Check if all the contents mentioned on the instructions leaflet are given. Most flat-pack furniture comes with everything needed for assembly, but you may need a hammer or screwdriver additionally.
  • Ask your furniture dealer for the kit of tools that will be essential in assembling furniture.These tools may be customized according to your piece. So make sure the seller dispatches it along with your furniture.
  • Follow the procedure step by step, keeping the instruction leaflet handy. Assembling furniture requires attention to minute details and will require you to fix nuts and bolts at each step.
  • Count the number of screws and bolts required in assembling. Before sitting down for assembling, make sure you have adequate screws and bolts in your kit. This won't let you get stuck in between the process.
  • Don't over tighten the screws and bolts into the furniture, since it can damage the product. Most furniture is crafted with MDF or particle board or soft wood and may have a chance of getting cracked.
  • While assembling, you may often note that a piece is missing or broken. Immediately inform the dealer and tell him to send you a replacement.
